Snow Fun! Zipfy Sled

It’s the largest toy trade show in the Western Hemisphere and it was held in mid-February in New York City. Most of the toys featured at The Annual American International Toy Fair 2011 were indoor toys but there’s one outdoor toy that gained a fair amount of attention – the Zipfy Freestyle Mini Luge. The Zipfy is a compact and lightweight sled that is fun for both children and adults and has developed a following of loyal sliders around the world.

Offered in a rainbow of eight different colors, the Zipfy weighs only 3.5 pounds. While not a new outdoor toy for 2011, it just might be the best new thing to hit winter sports since the snowboard. And, like snowboarding, organized Zipfy races and events are being held all over the world – there’s even a World Series. Families who went through plastic sleds like disposable napkins are finding this super-sturdy, lightweight sled the perfect choice for hours of outdoor snow fun. It even works on steeply sloped lawns and sand dunes.

As you can see, it looks a bit more like a saddle than a sled and it sometimes takes a bit of practice to learn how to maneuver them down the hill, but families all over the world proclaim this sled to offer the most winter outdoor fun they’ve had in years. Electric ride-on Toys, yes or no?

Electric ride-ons are top sellers right now, but should you buy one for your child?

You have probably seen all of the commercials and advertisements for electric ride-ons and you are probably wondering if you should get one for your child. Many people are conflicted about these toys, and both sides have valid points. Before you decide to jump on the electric ride-on bandwagon, you will want to educate yourself on the pros and cons of these toys so you can make an educated decision.

Many people like the idea of getting their child an electric ride-on toy. They figure their child will have a lot of fun, feel like they are growing up, and will have a lot of fun cruising around like the adults do. They think that this is a great way to provide their child with a good time and allow them to feel independent and older. The kids love riding around in a vehicle that has its own power. They feel almost as if they are on a ride at an amusement park, only better because they are in control of this ride. Electric ride-on toys can come in such styles as cars, motorcycles, tractors, and more. They usually look just like smaller models of the real thing, one more factor that makes them so appealing to children.

Outdoor Play: A Great Way for Kids to Get Outside

“Summer is a wonderful time of year when children can enjoy lots of fresh air and outdoor play. There is certainly no shortage of excellent activities, toys and accessories to entertain and inspire children of all ages.”
